Well it's been a while since we've been updating the website, but we are officially back! So much has happened and we have been extremely busy. My plan is to blog weekly about what is happening around the Homestead as well as to put much more content on the site.
A few updates since the last blog....I started a new job over a year ago! I have finally "settled" in and can once again focus on building our Homestead and our journey to self sufficiency. Janel has also started a part time job at home teaching over the internet. It has really helped us on our journey to become debt free. She works a few hours in the morning before the kiddo's wake up and then gets school ready. She is a blessing to our family and I am blessed to have her by my side!
I have had a very successful few seasons of hunting and have been filming my hunts. I'm still not the best at capturing everything yet, but I have been improving over the past year. It is so hard to focus on the shot as well as capturing it on camera. Especially since I mainly bow hunt. I will be posting my hunting videos on our pages over the next couple of weeks. I love being outdoors and am thankful for having land with lots of wild game.
We have also been raising meat chickens (I will post a video below) and have been active on our YouTube channel. Please subscribe here. We have decided to be more aggressive on our YouTube channel and our website. We will be making some investments in both to grow our audience. Plus it is fun to do! We have loved the interaction between the many, many people we have become acquainted with through our social media pages. What a blessing to know that there are so many like minded people out there! I have found that encouragement is such a powerful thing.
One thing we have learned the hard way is that our plans aren't always the Lords plans! We wanted to be much further in our journey by this point, but have learned to be patient and to scale back our yearly planning. I will be blogging about this in the future as well as posting vlogs about it.
