Car Pile Up! And Other Stuff.....

1/27/2019

I'm not a huge fan of this time of year in Northwest Pennsylvania. It's ridiculously cold and we have tons of snow. For me it is tough because I love being outdoors. I love to be doing stuff outside, but the weather really limits what you can do. I will play around outside a little but now the snow is way to deep to even trek back in the woods. I'm ready for Spring!

Today, I had to make a trip to the city. I probably shouldn't of been out. It was white out conditions. I traveled on the Interstate and on my way back there was a huge car pile up in the west bound lane. I had just taken that route 30 minutes earlier. It was scary looking. I was able to catch a bunch of footage from it on my cell phone. Check out the video below. Makes you realize how quickly bad weather can become very dangerous. From what I heard, there were only minor injuries.

In other news around the Homestead, we are in the 11th week of pregnancy! We are getting more and more excited about this beautiful baby that the Lord has blessed us with. The Bible says in Psalm 139:13-16:

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."

What a wonderful passage of Scripture! God knew us before we were even conceived in the womb. And He knitted each one of us together in our mother's womb. I will praise His mighty name! And to think....the Lord is "knitting" our newest blessing right now!

Please continue to pray for Janel as she has been more sick with this pregnancy than with any of the others. She is such a great mother. I am beyond blessed to have her and thank the Lord for bringing her to me. I didn't deserve her!

I still have a bunch of decisions to make in the near future. I'm weighing out a ton of stuff. I'm in one of those "what do I do Lord" times in my life. We had been planning to make a move and purchase a large piece of property in Kentucky, but then we were surprised by the pregnancy. I then applied for a position in the company that I currently work for, but I didn't get the promotion. That would of entailed us moving as well. So it seems that the doors keep closing when it comes to us moving.

It is still very appealing to me to purchase a larger piece of property to Homestead, but with the pregnancy, Janel wants to stay put until after the baby is born. So for now, our moving plans are on hold. Sometimes our plans are not the Lords plans, and I am perfectly fine with that! We love this property and could spend the rest of our days here with no issues at all.

Please continue to pray for us as we get ready for the next addition to the Homestead. We are excited! Also pray for future plans. We appreciate you all so much! Take care and God bless!  -Steve

Ephesians 3:20-21

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
